The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on October 09, 2026, notified regarding the Installation of the Retrofit Emission Control Devices on 25 DG Sets at Dwarka Expressway.
NHAI has initiated the installation of Retrofit Emission Control Devices (RECDs) on 25 diesel generator (DG) sets deployed along the 8.7-km Package-IV of the Dwarka Expressway, connecting Basai to the Kherki Dhaula/Delhi–Gurugram Expressway cloverleaf intersection. The initiative aims to reduce air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly during winter and under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), in compliance with the directions of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on regulating DG sets. The devices will be installed on generators used for expressway lighting and other associated operations, with installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance support. NHAI will also maintain GPS-tagged photographs of each installation for verification and compliance monitoring. The initiative forms part of NHAI’s efforts to integrate emission-control measures into National Highway infrastructure operations in the NCR.
